Donations, endowments, foundations and sponsorship

You can also do good!

The Gutenberg Museum is an absolute treasure – with an impressive collection and great potential. However, the museum needs restoring, both inside and out. The Gutenberg Foundation has made it its objective to support the museum on its way to a new future. It is to become an exciting place of discovery and state-of-the-art cultural exchange.

We need your support for this project!

Each show of support brings us closer to our vision of a new world museum for the art of printing. There are several ways to make a donation under German foundation law. You can make a simple restricted or unrestricted donation, regular donations as a GOOD FRIEND, sponsor a specific cause, make an endowment or even set up your own dependent foundation. We would be happy to advise you on the various ways you can help support the Gutenberg Foundation. Please feel free to call us or write to us. You’re welcome to join us for a cup of tea or coffee at any time. And of course we’ll also come to you. Contact:

Join our steadily growing Gutenberg community by becoming a regular benefactor! The Friends of Gutenberg are the body of the Gutenberg Foundation responsible for the active contribution of a large community. All GOOD FRIENDS donate a fixed sum on a regular basis. We suggest an annual donation of €60 (€30 for school pupils, students and senior citizens). Companies are kindly asked to donate €600. As lots of little things soon add up, this helps to put money in our sponsorship kitty which goes towards the overall funding of the new Gutenberg Museum. We look forward to welcoming new friends to support us. Donations are important – yet your interest, commitment and network are just as vital. Fill in and print out our GOOD FRIENDS pledge form. With your financial contribution you can directly add to our foundation capital or, with greater amounts, set up your own dependent foundation under the management of the Gutenberg Foundation. If you wish, this can bear your name or remain anonymous. It is also possible to make an endowment in kind only or combine a financial endowment with the endowment of an item. For example, you may want to donate a rare collection and at the same time provide the financial means for research or the conservatory care of the collection. These options are also possible as a dependent foundation under the aegis of the Gutenberg Foundation. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Contact:

Good for Gutenberg

Since the founding of the Gutenberg Museum in 1900 by the citizens of Mainz, local social commitment to the museum has become something of a tradition. Private citizens have always been the driving force behind the further development of the building and helped finance such projects. Johannes Gutenberg has influenced the development of humankind like no other. As the brilliant inventor of printing with moveable type, he triggered a media revolution which continues today. Every book, every printed text, every digital message stems from his ideas. Let’s build him a good museum!
