Dear GOOD FRIENDS,
we hope that you have had a good start to the new year 2022. A new year often means a fresh start with good intentions and new perspectives. The numbers of the ongoing corona pandemic are rising to ever new heights and yet we can look forward with confidence. Because thanks to the equally high number of vaccinations, we can hope that from this year onwards we will finally be able to return permanently to a normal everyday life without the threat of a lockdown.
With this optimism, we have planned our programme of events and will start in March with the first Friends of Gutenberg – Jour Fixe in the Kulturei Mainz, as always with an exciting lecture topic and a small wine tasting. Even before that, you are cordially invited to the digital XXVII Mainz Colloquium of Mainz Book Studies on 28 January on the topic "Book, Identities and the Freedom of Language. On the politics of publishers in times of heated debates" as well as to the likewise digital student discussion group "Longdrinks" on the question of "Book consumption and reception today" on 17 February.
There is more good news from the Gutenberg Museum. The architectural competition for the new building will start in the coming weeks and the train towards a new Gutenberg Museum is thus picking up speed again. Ride along and become an active ambassador for Gutenberg by talking about us and our work. We are still at the very beginning of creating a sustainable future for the Gutenberg Museum, and every GOOD FRIEND helps us.
As you can see, we have a lot planned and are already looking forward to many wonderful experiences together this year. An overview of all dates in the first half of 2022 can be found below.
