When the Easter Bunny hops through the streets of Mainz, young and old can print again in Gutenberg's workshop at lulu. From 11–23 April, always from 12–4 pm, volunteer printers offer visitors the opportunity to make their own printed works and gain an insight into the technique of letterpress printing.
Easter motifs, spring pictures and Mother's Day cards can be printed. Under guidance, names and small texts may also be set.
A visit to the workshop is possible spontaneously and without registration, as a short break or a crowning conclusion to a visit to the city. A donation for the Gutenberg Museum is requested.
While printing, visitors to the workshop get a small insight into Johannes Gutenberg's great invention, letterpress printing with movable type. The workshop promotes the "Man of the Millennium" and greatest son of the city of Mainz and provides information about the Gutenberg Museum. It is maintained by the museum's sponsoring organisations, the Gutenberg Foundation and the International Gutenberg Society.
