"Jour Fixe" becomes “Treffpunkt Gutenberg”
Our successful series of events „Jour Fixe“ is getting a new name. It will be renamed „Treffpunkt Gutenberg“, to make it clearer that everyone who is interested in topics related to Gutenberg is cordially invited to the public evenings.

TITLE: Museum Plantin-Moretus (Antwerp), a typographic
walhalla with a gigantic woodblock collection
Lecture on the history and collections of the Museum
Plantin-Moretus, with the focus on the typographical
collections and woodblocks.

announces its first use of a steam-powered cylinder press in November 1814. The lecture deals with the development of this groundbreaking invention.

of the International Gutenberg Society
The members‘ event will be followed by a ceremony organized by the Gutenberg Society and the City of Mainz:
Awarding of the Gutenberg Prize 2024
for outstanding artistic, technical or scientific achievement in the field of printing.
The Gutenberg Table is held as a convivial finale.

Gutenberg Museum – MOVED
During the first half of the year, we will be using the museum‘s lecture hall for our „Treffpunkt Gutenberg“. During the summer, the Gutenberg Museum will then move to its interim location next to the Natural History Museum.
The interim location will open on 22.06.2024.
